Sarah E. Sumners is an associate professor of education at Piedmont University in Athens, Georgia where she teaches and mentors masters and doctoral students. Dr. Sumners has led creativity training at the state, national, and international level, co-authored several journal articles, book chapters and publications on creativity and giftedness, and has written several grants to fund research. She serves on the board of trustees for the Future Problem Solving Program International, is a member of several professional, research, and teaching organizations, and is on the review board for several journals. In addition to 20 years of experience in higher education, she is also a former high school social studies teacher of the gifted. Dr. Sumners holds an M.Ed. in gifted studies from Mississippi University for Women and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Mississippi State University.
