History: Indiana introduced Future Problem Solving to students beginning in 1981 and has been in continuous service since that time.  We are supported financially and philosophically by the State Department of Education through their Academic Competition Division and philosophically through the Gifted and Talented Division.  FPSP Indiana exhibits at Indiana Association of the Gifted conferences and Department of Education conferences in Indiana during the year.

Components: Our Indiana FPSP participates in all the component parts of the International Program.  We have:

Problem Solving for grades K-3, a fun and easy way to introduce the Future Problem Solving method.
competition for grades 4-12 on a competitive or non-competitive basis.
writing, a creative writing activity of up to 1500 words for grades 4-12 on a competitive basis.
Problem Solving for grades 4-12 for teams or individuals who would like to take a problem within their community, state, school, etc. and work to solve it.

 

Registration:

Materials are sent out to all past coaches and GT coordinators throughout the state during the month of August.  They include general information about the Indiana program, a timeline, information about he Fall State Clinics for coaches and evaluators, handbook, video and Indiana FPSP produced materials and registration forms.
